Team Building Botanical GardenThe Botanical Garden in Pretoria East is a popular team building venue, and Potjiekos Competition tops the chart. But first, we have a hearty English Breakfast inside the Botanical Garden at the at Milkplum Cafe. The Milkplum Cafe is next to the waterfall inside the Botanical Garden. Bottomless coffee and orange juice are served. This is not a snappy breakfast, and much time is needed for this huge breakfast.

Bottomless coffee and fruit juice. less than 30 people order from the menu, more than 30 people will dish from the buffet.

11h00 - Ice Breakers and Fun Group Activities
Ice Breakers include “People to People”, “38”, “Ching Cho Cha”, etc.

11h00 - Dividing Teams ±10pp/team
The entire group stand in a circle and everybody get a number. All the “number 1’s” would be in a team, and all the “number 2’s” in another team, etc. Allow about ten people per team

11h00 - Refreshments - Fruit Juices, Soft Drinks, Bottled Water

11h00 - Potjiekos Mystery Boxes
Mystery Boxes - Each team receives a Mystery Box. Not all the boxes have the same ingredients in. Teams have to swop or trade ingredients with other teams. Ingredients include oil, veggies, herbs, and spices.


  • New Cooking Utensils - new disposable utensils (halaal), veggie knives, spoons, cutting boards, mixing bowls, mop caps, chef hats, aprons, gloves
  • No 3 Potjies - each potjie serves ±12 people
  • Potjie Meat - Chicken, and Lamb (beef optional), all meat from Laudium halaal Butchery 082 308 4339, ask for receipt. We regret, no pork)

Lunch Potjies
Potjies are potjies are served with six assorted salads, garlic rolls, and fresh assorted rolls.
Salads include Greek Salad, Potato Salad, Fruit Salad, Coleslaw, Noodle Salad, and Carrot

  • Vegetarian Meals - ordered from the Milkplum Café
  • Vegan Meals - ordered from the Milkplum Café
  • Halaal Meals - all meat, produce, and sauces are halaal, ask for receipt
  • Kosher Meals - bring own
  • Alcoholic Beverages - bring own


Braai Venue at the Botanical Garden
The Braai Area is a semi-private braai area. The venue does have a lapa with electricity, and works on a first come basis. Venue Hire (R1500 +R60pp), Tables (R30ea), Chairs (R10ea), Tables Cloths, etc

Please note that the toilets are at the entrance, about 300m from the Braai Area.
